CHILDREN’S PYJAMAS CAN PUT THEM TO SLEEP
Written by bmlengel on July 12th, 2009
Sometimes it seems we are more focused on our children’s wardrobes than on our own.Character clothing, designer wear, big brands.the list goes on.But while our children’s day clothes are our primary concern, are we looking at their sleepwear ?
Over 40 per cent of a child’s early life is spent asleep, according to experts.Researchers also found that a child’s sleep impacts on how the child develops mentally and physically. Why then, do we dash into the shops and make a rushed purchase or capitulate to our children’s demands for unsuitable bedclothes just because the fabric is printed with comic characters, when there may be better – and even healthier – choices?
While every parent wishes to do the very best for their families, it would be worthwhile taking the time to make sure they wear the right sleepwear.man-made fibres such as polyester and nylon can cause a reaction in young skins, because they don’t allow the skin to breathe properly. Some materials are very rough and can make the wearer itchy, sore and uncomfortable.
Sensitive skins need a sensitive touch and 100% pure cotton has been proved to be the best choice. It’s cool in the summertime and cosy when the temperature drops, but whatever the season, cotton is always breathable and healthy. And that’s why kids’ sleepwear from Midsummernight’s Dream is the best way of getting a good night’s rest, because it’s made from 100% pure Indian cotton.
According to Liz Collins, owner of Perth sleepwear shop and website, MidsummerNight’s Dream, who has spent the last 10 years specialising in the design and manufacture of stunning French-inspired nighties and pyjamas for both kids and adults, the proof of the pudding is in her customers’ feedback. The feedback from all my customers is that they get a good night’s sleep in their pure cotton sleepwear, because the generous proportions and French seams of our pyjamas and nighties makes them extra comfortable.”
She applies the same design and manufacturing philosophy to her children’s range, which includes beautifully hand embroidered winter and summer styles, pyjamas and dresses as well as sleepwear for babies.”The cotton we use is made in India, and is so fine, soft and gentle that it is suitable for everyone - even those with problem skins. It’s soft and comfortable, and also washes really well and dries quickly which is a real bonus with children,” she added.
With allergies on the increase, we should be looking at giving ourselves and our families the best chance at stopping these in their tracks, and one way is to wrap ourselves and our families in pure cotton sleepwear to ensure a healthy kickstart to the day from a good night’s rest.
