First of all, you should change the colors on the walls to something vibrant and lively. Go ahead and choose your favorite colors, even if they are black and hot pink. A college apartment should hardly feel cozy and homey. Rather it should have a fun to live atmosphere and a vibrant energy that will keep you up and alive through all those sleepless nights you will be facing. Secondly, you need to find some cool furniture. Things that look like they ve been brought from an attic or a museum will not work. So make sue every piece of furniture you choose fit your mood, temperament, taste and the modern look you expect. Also be careful not to choose oversize furniture as space is an important thing to preserve in any college apartment.

Finally, make sure not to load your room with too much furniture. Enough room should be there to walk around, play around or even do a circus if you please, inside your college apartment. Therefore, buy only what is essential. Fancy stuff is good as long as they are small and easily movable. And the budget! You need to make sure that you don t over spend. Therefore feel free to walk in to bargain shops and garage sales to find what you need.
