Some people think that if they can carry a tune or play an instrument without learning how to understand music sheets, that learning music theory is unnecessary. Talent may be a substitute for schooling, right? It is true though, that one can be considered a brilliant musician even without learning music theory but it is worth mentioning that doubtless, your talent may be better expressed if you have the knowledge of music theory.

Before you make up your mind about taking up music theory, here is an analogy that is pretty helpful especially if you’re deciding. Several others say people are not born to become lyricists. Poetry and prose can only be made by a few people who can translate their feelings into writing. But being familiar with the intricacies of language such as grammar and vocabulary is a knowledge and added tool that a writer can use to express his thoughts and ideas more effectively. Being truly relaxed with wordplay necessitates that you know the grammar of your language first. The art of writing could be understood by enhancing one’s learning and understanding language’s grammar. Nevertheless, just because one is familiar with the ins and outs of language and grammar, it doesn’t mean that he could be considered a writer.

A person who loves cooking is an case. Some people can naturally understand how ingredients can work and how a combination of flavors can create a wonderful dish. A person can sometimes naturally understand how particular ingredients work and how taste and flavor can be a wonderful dish. A wonderful dish made of a combination of tastes can be understood by someone who naturally knows how ingredients work. But when one actually enrolls at a cooking school to learn the basics of cooking, a person’s natural gift in dealing with flavors can be enhanced and improved. Even if this comes instinctively to you, a structured method to learning and cooking will make more sense for you.

In short, before you can make anything as your own, you would have to know them first. Playing the guitar just by using of one’s ear is kind of astonishing. Steve Krenz shows off this skill in his course, Learn and Master Guitar. Even without the aid of music sheet, you can be a great guitar player by applying your talent to recognize notes and put them together. But in order to be great at guitar playing, you would have to learn music idea. If you come up with your own music, then it will make sharing your music to other guitarists easier because you are speaking the same language and are skilled with the “grammar” or technicalities of music. Nevertheless, even if you know the various notes of music like the back of your hand, nothing can still replace one’s authentic musical talent.

You could still study how to make good music if you have the discipline to master music theory even if it doesn’t essentially manage to make you an artist out of a musician. Good music may be considered an inspired music in the near future. The combination consistency and hard work, can be paid off in the end.

If you want to learn and master guitar techniques or even just be able to understand simple music theory, music schools can always help you. There is a lot of ideas online which has already been made available due to the beauty of technology. You’ll find it easily if you just go and search the web.
